One of the things that so far has gone wrong is my estimation on how long it takes to actually extract data and find reliable sources. For each incident, I have to go through multiple sources in English and Persian to confirm the exact amount of fatalities and injuries, as different sources have given different stats. For instance, the government side has always confirmed fewer numbers than actual number of deaths and injuries, which is mostly to cover their incapacity and incautious behavior regarding these events, and to prevent the public from protests and uprisings. On the other hand, local sources or other neutral humanitarian organizations have usually reported higher numbers. For this issue, I have been carefully scanning all the articles, and have made notes on my data document to capture this information. Also, I have recently started using Zotero, which I wish I had installed before, as it helps me with capturing the webpages as well as the links and citations.
